Understand which calculator and visit data may be visible, why query-string scenarios should exclude personal details, and how to request help.
Privacy
kWh Math has no accounts, no sign-in, and no user profiles. There is nothing to register for and no personal record to maintain, which keeps the amount of data involved small and easy to describe.
Calculator inputs live in the URL
All calculator arithmetic runs in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to a server to be calculated. Inputs are written into the page URL instead, so a scenario can be bookmarked, reopened later, or shared with an installer. That design has a direct consequence: a query string appears in your browser history, in the referrer header sent to any site you click through to, in server access logs, and in any message where you paste the link. The fields are wattages, runtimes, rates, system sizes, and loan terms, none of which identify you, and you should keep it that way — do not put an account number, address, or name into a calculator field.
Logs, hosting, and analytics
The site is served from Cloudflare Workers. Ordinary server and edge logs may record IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp, response status, and error details for security, abuse prevention, and reliability. We use Microsoft Clarity for aggregate product analytics, which measures page views, referrers, approximate location at country or region level, device and browser characteristics, and interaction patterns such as scrolling, clicks, and session replays of on-page behaviour. Clarity sets cookies or uses similar browser storage to distinguish one visit from another. We use it to learn which calculators and explanations are actually used, not to identify individuals, and we do not attempt to link Clarity data to any other source. Microsoft processes that data under its own terms and offers an opt-out; browser settings that block third-party storage, or a tracker-blocking extension, will also prevent it from loading.
Advertising
This launch does not enable automatic advertising, and no advertising network is loaded on any page today. If advertising is introduced later, advertising partners may use cookies or local storage for frequency capping, measurement, and, where permitted, personalization, and a consent control will be shown wherever it is legally required before those cookies are set. This page will be updated before that happens rather than afterward.
Email, data sources, and requests
Email sent to our contact addresses is processed only to answer the message, investigate a reported calculation or accessibility problem, and keep an appropriate record of the correction that followed. We do not sell contact data, do not share it with installers or energy retailers, and do not add correspondents to a mailing list. The rate and consumption benchmarks in the tools come from published national datasets such as the Energy Information Administration annual tables; they describe state averages, never individual households, and no information about you is combined with them. Access, correction, and deletion requests can be sent to privacy@kwhmath.com and will be handled within a reasonable period.
